The Seacliffe Hotel is an ideal venue for bona-fide clubs and special interest groups who are visiting Whitby, Heartbeat Country and the North York Moors.
With our sea-view Lounge-Bar and Restaurant we are able to offer groups the opportunity, to wine and dine together after a day's activities or, before going out to explore Whitby by night.
Having our own car park for up to eight cars and additional motorcycle/scooter parking, plus on-street parking along the North Promenade is another significant bonus for Classic Car, Scooter or Motorcycle Clubs.
Educational Visits & School Trips to Whitby
A school trip to Whitby, North Yorkshire, is an immensely enjoyable experience and provides some unique educational activities. And the Seacliffe Hotel is perfectly positioned to make your visit a success.
The Seacliffe is directly above the beach and a short walk away from the Whitby Indoor Pool and Leisure Centre.
Just watch your pupils' faces when they visit the "Whitby Wizard" science exploratorium and listen to our very own Norwegian explorer and scientist - as he describes his awful experience with a polar bear!
With its unique coastal position and its history, geology and its cultural links to many parts of the world, Whitby is an absolutely wonderful location for low-season school visits.
The Pannett Park Museum & Art Gallery is an absolute treasure-house of wonderful artefacts - and it also has a massive, modern, play area in the Park, outside.
At the Seacliffe Hotel we have many years experience of helping teachers to organise educational residential visits and school trips to Whitby and the North York Moors. Several of our staff are experienced in classroom teaching, Learning Support and working with Youth Groups.
We really do get a lot of pleasure from enabling young people to enjoy what is often their first school trip away from home. We know that they will remember their stay in Whitby for the rest of their lives, because several of them make a return visit many years later, sometimes with their own children!
Many of our school parties return year after year. In fact, one group has just celebrated its 22nd anniversary visit to The Seacliffe in 2009!
The Seacliffe's position, overlooking the beach and harbour entrance, and its easy access to the town, leisure centre, indoor swimming pool, museum and visitor attractions, makes it probably the best location in Whitby for a school visit.
We are able to offer school parties of approximately 30 pupils & staff a low-season block-booking of The Seacliffe at very reasonable rates that include all student & staff accommodation, packed lunches and evening meals. Our Lounge area is available for meetings, talks, films, etc. Whilst many of our groups take the opportunity to organise a student Talent Show or Karaoke contest on their final evening!
Corporate & Business Bookings
The Seacliffe has many years experience of providing accommodation for UK and international business travellers and contractors who are visiting Whitby.
We are the first choice of accommodation for a number of the defense contractors, and RAF & MOD personnel, who regularly visit RAF Fylingdales and other destinations in North Yorkshire.
